SCARECROW FESTIVAL
Our Maize Maze needs protecting and we want your help…
We’re launching our first Scarecrow Festival in June, and we’re asking SCHOOLS, BUSINESSES and the LOCAL COMMUNITY to design and build their very own scarecrows to display in the paddock here at Goat Shed.
PRIZES…
School Class Winner – Maize Maze entry for each child within the winning class
Community Winner – Up to 6 family Maize Maze day pass
Business Winner – Maize Maze entry and tea/coffee for up to 10 people
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS…
Print out and fill in the entry form.
Make your scarecrow and deliver your creation between May 30th – June 2nd during opening hours, making sure your form is attached to your scarecrow.
All scarecrows will be on display in the paddock from June 6th, and the public can vote for their favourite design until June 29th.
All votes will be counted by team Goat Shed, and the winner will be announced and contacted on July 1st.
You can collect your scarecrows after the winner has been announced, or you can donate it to help protect our Maize Maze.

VOTING…
All scarecrows will be on display out in our paddock from Friday 6th June, and the public will have from June 6th – 29th to vote for their favourite. Voting slips will be available to fill out from our paddock corridor, so make sure to tell your friends and family to come in and vote.
All votes will be counted by the team, and we will announce the winner on our socials on July 1st, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram.
SCARECROW TIPS…
There are plenty of helpful videos on Youtube and TikTok, showing simple steps on what you’ll need and where to start. If you don’t fancy using straw, you could use scrunched up paper or filled bags in the clothing to build up your body shape – the old fashioned broomstick and old shirt would even work!
When making your scarecrow, please make sure that there is a wooden pole/plank coming out of the top/secured to the back to help display it in the paddock.
Should you require any further information then please speak to a member of the team, or email enquiries@goat-shed.co.uk.
