HAND-PICKED,
HOOF-APPROVED
When it comes to stocking our shelves, we never kid around. Every jar, loaf and wheel of cheese you see in Goat Shed Farm Shop has trotted through a rigorous taste test (tough job, we know) and a values check to make sure it matches our favourite F‑words: Fresh, Fair and Flippin’ fantastic.

Why We’re Head Over Hooves for Local
We’re Norfolk born and bred, so championing our neighbours is baked into our DNA (and our brownies).
Our ‘local’ patch covers Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. If it’s grown, brewed or baked inside the three‑county triangle, there’s a good chance you’ll find it grazing on our shelves.
Community First
Buying local keeps soil under boots, jobs in villages and good vibes rippling through East Anglia.
Fewer Food Miles
Less time on the road means a lighter carbon hoof print and fresher produce for you.
Real Relationships
We can visit our makers, poke our noses into their kitchens and share a cheeky coffee while we talk cheese rinds and chutney spices.
ARTISAN ALL-STARS
(From beyond the Paddock)
We love our locals, but we also know there’s a whole herd of brilliant artisan businesses outside East Anglia making moo‑vellous things we just can’t resist. If a producer is independent, quality‑obsessed and shares our sustainable mindset, we’ll happily give them a home in the Shed.
Think Cornish sea salt, Cumbrian charcuterie or Scottish shortbread that’s worth every extra mile – because sometimes greatness is worth a little gallop.
How We Pick Our Produce
Taste Test
If it doesn’t make us bleat with joy, it doesn’t make the cut.
Values Check
Sustainable sourcing, ethical practices and a genuine love of the land.
Logistics and Price
Amazing goods still need to earn their keep, so we balance margin with mission.
Brand Fit
Fun, honest and proudly independent.
Step Into the Spotlight, Local Legends
We’re big fans of giving our neighbours a leg-up (or a hoof-up). That’s why we created the Independent Spotlight – a fortnightly feature where we roll out the green carpet and shine a barn-sized beam on one brilliant artisan maker and give them centre stage in our farm shop.
Whether you’re a kitchen-table start-up, a new product pioneer, or just dipping your hooves into retail for the first time, this is your moment to meet our fabulous flock of customers and test the waters in a real shop setting.
We hand-pick local stars who share our values – but we’re also all ears for self-nominations via our website. This isn’t about building a forever partnership (though sometimes it does happen); it’s about offering experience, exposure, and a chance to feel the retail buzz.
Because when one of us grows, the whole herd wins.

What We Need From You
Up‑to‑date paperwork: food hygiene, PL insurance, any eco creds – keep the red‑tape goat happy.
A named contact who’s reachable during opening hours (no voicemail vacays).
Enough stock (and top‑ups) to keep the display looking drool‑worthy all day.
Your own POS if you’ve got it – banners, flyers, goat‑shaped bunting… surprise us!
How the Moolah Works
Sale or return. You supply, we sell. Anything left trots back to you.
Crystal‑clear report. We’ll send a sales rundown at spotlight close.
Prompt payment. We settle up by the end of the month after your run – at the price we agreed, no funny business.
The Not‑So‑Small Print
We hoof‑pick spotlighters at the discretion of our Head of Retail (a.k.a. Head Goat). We reserve the right to pause or pull the plug if things get a bit… bleat‑er than sweet.
But don’t worry – we’ll always chat it through first.

INDEPENDENT SPOTLIGHT
Every month we clear a special pen in‑store for fledgling producers to strut their stuff. It’s our way of giving small businesses a leg‑up (or a hoof‑up) without them needing to tick every single box straight away. Many ‘Spotlighters’ go on to become full‑time fixtures, and we’re proud as goats about that.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: JENNA CRUSH ILLUSTRATION
We’re thrilled to welcome Jenna Crush, an East Anglia-based artist and illustrator, to our Independent Spotlight.
Jenna creates beautiful, hand-illustrated art prints inspired by the local countryside — from Norwich Cathedral and Happisburgh Lighthouse to Norfolk Lavender and tulip fields. Her work is now available in our Home & Gifting area, and the team have already been picking out their favourites.
Jenna’s collection is here for the next two weeks, so pop by to take a look. You can also follow her journey on Instagram or visit her Etsy shop.
THE NUMBERS
(Because even puns need proof)
We’re aiming for at least 60 % of our suppliers to be local by the end of 2026 and we’ll keep you posted right here, we’re always honest, it’s literally one of our values.
